Tax cuts will be 'self-funded', Willis says
Finance Minister Nicola Willis told RNZ early Tuesday that the Government's tax cuts will be "self-funded".
"They will be self-funded. I have had enough advice to give me confidence that will be the case, that we can responsibly deliver them," Willis said.
"I will have a lot more to say about it next week in our mini-budget."
Willis was asked about her Christmas plans.
"We got the tree up this weekend, and I'm so delighted. After several years of a fake little tree, this year we've got a big real one and it smells so good, and I bought all the kids a new Christmas decoration to put on it," Willis said.
"It's higgledy-piggledy, and it's got things they designed when they were at pre-school, and it's lovely."
Her household would be hosting a family get together on Christmas Day. "So, I'll be cooking, and no doubt be doing some mad tidying of the house in the days leading up to it.
"And then I plan to sort out the garage for a couple of day, because, you know, that'll be fun.
"And then we're heading to the beach for a few days. And I'm just going to be in a cocoon, body surfing, doing a few jigsaws, cooking some nice meals.
"And then I plan to emerge as a butterfly in the New Year, ready to throw myself at my work."
