Protesters disrupt Nicola Willis's post-budget speech
Around a dozen protesters were removed from a post-budget public meeting being hosted by Finance Minister Nicola Willis in Rolleston, alongside local Selwyn MP Nicola Grigg.
One by one, protesters stood up, reading from scripts. They were unable to be heard over the crowd who yelled “out” and “stop “continuously while police hauled them out.
“50,000 dead Palestinians 50,000 dead children" one protester yelled
Nicola Willis said "We should all treat each other with respect, as we all have different view points."
“They are being so rude and ignorant“ one woman in the crowd said.
"It will be a better meeting for everyone if we do some listening first." Nicola Willis said moments after the protesters were taken out by the two police.
