'I want more medical doctors, not spin doctors' - PM reacts to latest public service job cuts
Christopher Luxon doesn't think the cuts to the public service are excessive.
Speaking to reporters in Thailand, Luxon said New Zealanders expect the Government to cut down the waste and prioritise frontline services.
"New Zealanders expect us to make sure that every dollar is actually directed towards delivering an outcome. And so that's why you can be confident that as we go through the budget, there'll be an increase in support and resources and funding for Oranga Tamariki and education."
Luxon added they have told the CEOs of the impacted agencies to make sure that every single person, every single dollar, every resource is focused on frontline services and delivering better outcomes for New Zealanders.
