The Government has announced a $50 million immunisation programme for Māori, during a visit to a Māori health provider.
Health Minister Shane Reti said the Māori-focused health programme would work to prevent serious and life threatening illness amongst tamariki Māori.
"When there are outbreaks of serious disease like whooping cough or measles, which happens usually every three to four years, it's high-needs communities and pēpi Māori who are often more adversely affected," Reti said.
The $50 million would be spent over two years.
