Dickason was reliable and consistent when talking to experts - defence

Everything Dickason said about how the children died was consistent with the autopsy reports.

Beaton said her client was reliable and consistent, in contrast to the Crown’s suggestion.

“Is this really fair to suggest she’s lying by omission when she’s being asked to speak for over 50 hours about her life?”

Dickason was a GP, and the jury might think that, if she really wanted to fake her mental illness, she could’ve made stuff up like pretending to hear voices, Beaton suggested.

Another example of this was Lauren’s internet search history in which she searched for how to overdose children.

She was forthcoming that some related to her thoughts of harming the children, Beaton said.

“Even though she searched for these things, that wasn’t how she went about killing her children, what she did was impulsive”.

If Dickason was trying to mislead experts or the court, why would she not try to be more consistent, and show more that she was psychotic, Beaton asked.

“She wasn’t faking anything”.
